This is a photographic study about change.
As I walked through the streets of São Paulo, I couldn't leave unoticed how the city was changing, changing for the bad. The construction sites were taking over and transforming the city into a new space of living, turning the sky into windows, turning little shops into rich people's apartments, turning the public space into exclusive. With the camera in my hands, I wanted to register this moment and try to show people the process of change, not only how architecture is capable of transforming spaces but in which way this transformation is made.
This little photography book wants to register the birth of this violent new horizon. wants to give light to the big production of residential buildings, which are taking over São Paulo nowadays (2024). Of those that residential will be only for the ghosts of investment.
Little talk about the day-to-day life on the construction site, but, a lot is discussed about the way these new buildings will look and how they'll magically promote a new way of life.
The process is the product, life is the development.
